For the love of Coffee. . .

I love coffee. More specifically, I love good coffee and I am excited to bring a new level of coffee goodness to my neighborhood and beyond.

My coffee adventure began seven years ago in Chicago, IL working as a roaster for Intelligensia Coffee & Tea. Not only did I gain invaluable experience in the coffee industry, but I also met my beautiful wife. Together we packed up our coffee knowledge and we moved to Healdsburg, CA where I became head roaster for Flying Goat Coffee.

As our coffee dreams continued to grow, so did our family. With the birth of our son, also came the strong urge to combine what we love... family, friends and COFFEE! We packed up our family (including four chickens and an old toothless cat) and headed to Portland, Oregon: an area rich in coffee culture and known for its fantastic weather.

And so it begins... Nectar Coffee... roasted fresh in Northeast Portland. Nectar Coffee Company uses a Ambex YM-2 coffee roaster and specializes in small-batch artisan roasting and is dedicated to simply making a good cup of coffee.

Not only are we passionate about the coffee we roast, we also feel that it is imperative to minimize our footprint in the process. We source beans that come from sustainable farms that pay fair wages to their workers. We offset all energy costs of roasting with wind power and package our beans in compostable bags made from recycled content.

We cup our coffees each day to ensure we are obtaining the maximum potential from the beans. Thus allowing us to proclaim - we produce a stellar cup of coffee.
